History
Our Aesthetics program has grown out of the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), an award-winning Holistic Health college and one of the first massage schools in Arizona. For over 20 years, SWIHA’s motto has been ~ Learn to Touch Lives, Heal Bodies and Free Souls.
Founded by KC Miller in 1992, Southwest Institute of Healing Arts has become one of the largest colleges in the country to offer diploma programs, continuing education classes and degrees in Holistic Health, fully recognizing the Mind-Body Wellness connection.
Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics was founded in July 2005 and the first classes began October 2005.
Our Campus
We are conveniently located in the heart of Tempe, next to Arizona State University and within walking distance of restaurants, shops, coffee houses, city transit system, and just minutes from the 101, 202 and 60 freeways. The freestanding facility has approximately 10,000 square feet of floor space and houses three academic classrooms and a clinic floor where students work on the public once they have successfully passed the necessary competencies. There is a student lounge, library/media center provided for students, along with lockers for storage of personal items and valuables.

Accreditation
SWINA is licensed by the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology and the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (ARRA). Our institute is nationally accredited by The Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET) and is licensed by the Department of Education, offering financial aid to those who qualify.
