Natural Awakenings
In the second half of 2010 & early 2011, Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics and Natural Awakenings Magazine partnered to feature an innovative promotion that highlighted the inner beauty of Valley residents. This ongoing feature was the “Natural Face of Caring” and focused on honoring caring community members and their inspirational stories in each issue of Natural Awakenings Magazine.
Bridging the Gap Foundation
Bridging the Gap Foundation supports women through the final phase of reconstructive surgery for breast cancer. Bridging the Gap Foundation is the only organization created to educate empower and assist women with their rights, choices and options in their complete Breasthetic recovery, before during and after breast cancer. Bridging the Gap Foundation is dedicated to helping women unravel the red tape surrounding the pink ribbon.
SWINA donated a portion of every spa service performed for the entire month of October 2010 and ultimately presented Bridging the Gap Foundation with a $1,000.00 check.
The Arizona Holistic Chamber of Commerce
The Arizona Holistic Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to creating a new spirit in business. We have been a member of the Holistic Chamber for many years.
SWINA hosted their annual Holistic Health Fair in 2010 and partnered together in the holiday season to collect donations for the Toys for Tots Campaign.
Fresh Start for Women
Fresh Start for Women is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women help themselves and is 100% supported by private donations. This is achieved through the work of the Jewell McFarland Lewis-Fresh Start Women’s Resource Center, the first comprehensive Center offering quality services to women seeking self-improvement.
SWINA donated a Spa basket with over $2500.00 dollars in scholarships and services to Fresh Start for Women for their Night of Stars Event.
Sedona Pride on the Rocks
Sedona Pride is a non-profit service organization within the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community of Sedona and the surrounding Verde Valley, committed to the goals of human rights, education, outreach and better understanding within our community, as well as the heterosexual community. Sedona Pride utilizes the talents, visions and expertise or our community to produce the annual Pride on the Rocks Celebration and Festival.
SWINA donated a Spa basket of $3000.00 worth of Spa services at our Student Clinics as well as scholarships to the SWIHA.
Phoenix AIDS Walk
The Phoenix AIDS Walk began in Phoenix in 1987 and quickly grew to become a community-wide event that at its peak raised nearly $1 million dollars. More people with HIV/AIDS need care than ever before, but federal and private funding for medical care and supportive services continues to decline. Phoenix AIDS Walk has been steadily increasing in visibility and in funds raised throughout the last few years.
Team Spa SWINA organized a group of walkers and participated in showing their solidarity and support at the 2010 Phoenix AIDS Walk.
The Melonhead Foundation
The Melonhead Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the needs of children with cancer and their families. They provide financial aid to families of children with any diagnosis of cancer in an effort to help lessen the burden of expenses these families experience during the treatment phase.
To provide financial aid to families of children 21 years of age or younger, with any diagnosis of cancer. We have awarded payment for housing, insurance, utilities, food, medical expenses and natural healing such as acupuncture, massage, and naturopaths when requested.
For the past 4 years, SWINA has donated gift certificates for services to help raise money for the Melonhead Foundation.
