Does your program only teach “Natural” Aesthetics?

SWINA teaches an advanced curriculum including both natural and clinical aesthetics. This gives our students the knowledge to truly support what their client wants and needs.

Do you offer financial aid?

Yes, Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. One may apply for financial aid on the FAFSA website at www.fafsa.ed.gov School code 035933.

What time does class start?

Our day classes begin at 8:30am, and our evening classes begin at 6:00pm.

What can an aesthetician do?

There are a wide variety of employment opportunities available upon completion of your program. As a Licensed Aesthetician you can be an Independent Contractor, Product Sales Representative, Makeup Artist, work in a Spa, Salon, Med Spa or Resort, open Your Own Business, Work for a Doctor, and much more!

Why should I pick your school?

SWINA provides you with state-of-the-art skin care techniques to master the skills need to persue many career and entrepreneurial opportunities, not just ‘test preparation.’ While we do thoroughly prepare you to take both the written and practical licensing exams required by Arizona State Board of Cosmetology, our focus is on teaching you the real-world skills and current spa technologies used in high-end resorts and Med-spas that will lead to great Employment Opportunities, or to building a successful practice of your own.

Are you accredited?

Yes, we are nationally accredited by ACCET, the Accrediting Commission for Continuing Education and Training. Being nationally accredited allows us to offer federal financial aid to those who qualify.

Do you offer night and day classes?

Yes we do offer classes both day and night. Our Day program begins with Tuesday – Friday 8:30-4:30 and our Evening program begins with Tuesday – Thursday 6:00-10:00 pm and one Saturday per month.

Do you prepare me for the state board exam?

Yes, as part of our regular curriculum we include a special series of State Board classes that focus on getting prepared to take the state board written and practical exam. Your State Board licensing fees are already factored into your tuition, so upon graduation, once your hours have been submitted, you can schedule your testing dates.

Day Spa/Laser Clinic FAQ

How and when should I make my Spa appointments?

We encourage guests to schedule their appointments in advance. Same day reservations and walk-in appointments are always welcome, based on availability. All reservations must be secured with a major credit card. To schedule an appointment please call us at (480) 393-1415.

What is the Spa’s cancellation policy?

In order for SWINA to continue offering you a great price in our student spa, we have developed a 24-hour cancellation policy. Please respect the spa’s scheduling by keeping your reserved appointment. We understand that at times you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Please make sure that you provide a minimum of 24 hours notice when canceling or rescheduling appointments.

Because your services are guaranteed reservations, full payment is required for the following conditions:

Less than 24 hours notification to cancel or reschedule appointments
No-show or missed appointments
The credit card on file will be charged for all appointments canceled or rescheduled within less than 24 hours, and/or no-shows.

What time should I arrive for my Spa service(s)?

We ask that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of your first scheduled service. This will allow you time to check in at the desk and complete all necessary paperwork related to your service.

What if I’m late?

Please keep in mind that arriving late for a service may require the spa to shorten the length of the treatment, with full charges applied. This is to not inconvenience other guests, who have scheduled appointments.

What are the Spa’s hours?

The hours of the student day spa vary. Please check with the reception desk for current hours or contact us at (480) 393.1415.

Should I shave before my spa service(s)?

We recommend allowing several hours between shaving and receiving any service that involves an exfoliation (body services, scrubs, gentlemen’s facial) to decrease the risk of skin irritation or discomfort. If you are receiving Laser Hair Removal, you will shave the day of the appointment.
